Day 4: Abnormal Days

Adda yawned, stretching her arms above her head. She stood, put her vest on, then went to the bathroom. After changing the bandages, she smiled a bit. "Well, it's pretty much better-ish! At least as good as I think it'll get."
With that, she strolled out of her room to wait for someone to go to breakfast with.

David yawned and sat up. He smiled lazily and looked around his room - it looked the same as before he went to bed, of course. He got up and changed into his usual clothes - he left his hat off, though, he had a headache from a certain recurring dream, and wearing his stupid hat always managed to make them worse.

He looked in the mirror and groaned - his hair was messy. It was always messy. He wondered if anyone would care.

"They better not," He mumbled as he tried feebly to fix his disastrous mess of hair with little to no success.

Herbert was quick to get up. He had a particularly good night, save for meeting someone, but that was far from his mind. He hoped nothing happened. He cautiously stepped out, waiting for someone to scream. He looked up and down the hall, only one person was out now, and he didn't want to talk to her. Not yet. He still felt guilty.
At least it was time to feed his fish. he slowly, cautiously, headed for the stairs, intending to go down them.

Eloise sighed. There it was, right on time.

She wasn't entirely sure what she was doing in the gym and whether or not it really could've been called exercise. Her sad attempts at mimicking Asher on the ropes didn't go over well and running around proved fruitless. Eloise had hoped to meet her more gym-inclined friends but that proved to be a failure as well.

Putting several soccer balls back in their places, she walked into the locker room in a daze. She threw her clothes into the locker and slammed it closed, causing an odd-sounding clunk.
"Oops..." She murmured, backing away from it a bit and deciding that now would be a good time to head to the cafeteria. She was hungry as hell.

Asher was so focused on breakfast that when the bear's announcement rang out he nearly chocked. He swallowed a few gulps of water, then sighed.
He was grateful no one was around to see, considering this was always the first stop of the morning.

She woke up a few minutes before the announcement, just so that it didn't startle her in her sleep. It startled her as she was going to walk out her door instead, which was a slight improvement.

She looked out the hall and peered around, spotting Adda. She walked over with a small smile on her face. "Hello!" she said casually.

By now, Monobear's voice in the alarm didn't faze Laura. She wasn't asleep of course. She had been sitting on her bed reading "A Game of Thrones" since she got back to her room early last night. It was a good book, so far. No one important had died yet though. That disappointed her a little bit. "Well, time for the usual routine," she said as she got up from her bed. "How the heck am I gonna shower with these crutches though?"

She figured it out. Within ten minutes Laura was showered and in a new set of clothes. Of course, they were identical to her previous outfit. There wasn't much need for diversity in her wardrobe when she was trapped in a high school. "I'm not really hungry for breakfast though. What did Monobear suggest doing, again?"

Laura grabbed her Electronic Student ID and switched it to the map screen. Just as the bear had said, there was a new section of the school available.



"Goddammit! A chem and lab room? Boring!" She tossed her ID to the side in disgust. "I guess I might as well check it out though," she said begrudgingly. Then she stuffed her ID in her pocket and left her room, heading for the stairs.

Adda looked over and smiled.
"Hey there Marci! Should we head for breakfast now, or wait to see if Oscar'll roll out of bed anytime soon?"

She was about to answer 'Let's wait!' when she felt and heard her stomach growl. "Maybe we should head over to the cafeteria, I'm starving," she said sheepishly. "He'll meet us there, we've met there every day so far."

So Laura was going to go down too? He already had enough of Laura for a week, if not the rest of his life. It looked like part of book club was coming too. Lovely. He hated groups. He started to run down the stairs, not eager to be in a group.
He stopped at the bottom, his eyes wide. Something was up, he could smell it. Now that he was awake and could focus better, he knew the smell he was smelling. It wasn't a good one.
"Eeeeeey!" he called, slowly turning around, a very worried tone in his voice.

Adda laughed.
"Alright! Heck, he might even already be there, in which case it'd be a waste of time to hang around here!" As she went to move, she heard Herbert.
"Should we... put breakfast off first?" She asked Marci.

Laura meandered down the stairs behind Herbert. Her sense of smell wasn't as good as his. "What's the problem? There's nothing down here," she said. Though if she was being totally honest, she wasn't so sure. Someone could have died last night.

She nodded to Adda, and turned to Herbert. "I smell it too, but...what is it?" she was reluctant to ask, for obvious reason.

"Et's blood." There was some dread in his voice, and his teeth were showing in a frown. "It's not fresh. Naw, this is kinda dried. I'd say... around eight or noine hours ago. Jesus Christ, that was early night..."
His voice went soft, his face became white and blank. "gently caress, did someone die?" He spat, his voice raising and he stepped forward to the slightly open door.

Adda stumbled a bit as she caught up.
"B-blood?" Adda's voice shook. "Where?!"

He walked out of his door just in time to hear the word 'die'. That woke him up, and suddenly hsi hair wasn't the most worrying thing on the planet. He looked down the hallway and scrambled after everyone. "E-eh? D-Die? What's goin' on?!"

Laura trailed behind Herbert, grinning enthusiastically. "I dunno but don't look at me! You know I couldn't a' been down here early last night." She thought for a moment while Herbert went to open the door. "Hey, we both have alibis! If this is a murder, maybe we won't be wrongly accused! Always nice to not have to worry about a gruesome death for a couple days, right?"

Asher stood up from his seat, then his eyes widened.
"My cake!" I left it in the stupid library because of that meeting!" He left his dishes, and moved to leave the cafeteria for the library.

Going down the hallway from the locker rooms to the cafeteria, Eloise distracted herself with the student ID. She had only just remembered Monobear's final words from the meeting, having blocked it from her mind thus far.
The selection of science rooms wasn't her cup of tea, but it sure seemed interesting. As for that rec hall...

Before she knew it she was in the cafeteria. She considered giving a quick wave to Asher, but suddenly he was up and away. God, what did she do to him?
"Hey! Where are you going?!"

Herbert scoffed. He hoped it wasn't, but if he could smell the blood from this far away, there was a lot. Nobody lost a pint from a papercut. And nobody accidentally lost some unless they got...
He shook his head, opening the door. The maze of books began. The smell became a little stronger as he opened the door, which made him grimace. "Where's et comin from?" He mumbled, cautiously stepping inside.

Asher turned back as he ran off
"Sorry Eloise! I left my cake!"
And with that he was out the door.

Adda entered behind him. The room that was once welcoming felt ominous- though she couldn't smell the blood or anything, something about the room felt off.
She hoped it was just Herbert's attitude putting her on edge.

Laura leapt in after Herbert. "Let's split up, gang!" she announced. "This is just like inScooby-Doo!" First, she checked the table where Oscar had been studying his notes or something the day before. She didn't really expect to find anything interesting, but she couldn't be sure.

Marci followed behind Herbert nervously, glancing around for any signs of blood. The smell was strong enough to make every emotion besides horror nonexistent. "Someone..." she trailed off, looking down and covering her nose from the smell, "what's...going on...?"
