Day 4: Abnormal Days

Albert put Adda's notebook in her bag before sitting down, losing consciousness for a moment to allow Adda to return.
I know you can handle it, Addy. You're my little girl, after all.

Eloise gave a small wave to David. She hadn't said good morning to him, or anyone really, but if she said that she would be lying.

"I've already been in the kitchen. From my quick scan, I didn't see anything, but it could be worth it. We can always split up." Being away from the body was all she needed to think clearly again, "We shouldn't split into groups of one, for obvious reasons. Two of us can head to the kitchen, and then some of us can look at rooms."

"So it's settled then," Laura said. "If we're doing groups of two, someone else is coming with me to check the dorm rooms. Never know what we might find up there."

Exploring rooms?
Herbert casually snuck into the conversation. "Ah think et sounds loike a plan. Loike what if tha killer hid evidence in their room? Or in Jaden or...Alex's. Ah mean, we could get somewhere!"

Asher nodded.
"Laur, you wanna pair up then? Though, aren't the dorms locked?"

"What if we get all tha cards an' we just unlock tha rooms?" Herbert shrugged.
'I'd give mine. Ah don't have anythin in there."

"...er, I'll stay here I guess. Make sure no one messed with the crime scene and all, y'know?" He nodded. "And I'm alright with you guys checking out my room. Just don't break anything."

Laura stared at Asher for a moment, trying to read his expression. She still wasn't sure if he forgave her. "I'd like that," she said. "Also, Herb's right. We can just take everyone's cards before we go up. Speaking of, where did Oscar's go, anyway?"

"Woll, it wasn't in his pockets, right? Maybe he left it on tha desk? Or it fell off?" Herbert crossed his arms, thinking.

Adda looked up, dazed, as her memories began to flood back. She stood, groggy.
"Card? Yeah, take mine," Adda mumbled. Moments after she recalled whose corpse laid on the ground. She clasped her hands over her mouth, face pale, and ran to Marci's side, not aware that she was supposed to be guarding the scene with David.

Laura took the card from Adda. "Thanks, Adds. Alright, me Herb and Ash are gonna need everyone else's cards too. We probably don't have to worry about Oscar's. The culprit wouldn't be stupid enough to hide anything in his room anyway."

"Erm, I'll do the search with you all." Eloise wasn't entirely comfortable with the idea of handing someone her ID. Plus, as a bonus, she could get the hell out of this room. She needed out.

Marci her friend a small nod and sighed. She'd try to comfort her, but the act seemed rather pointless - she could say 'it's going to be okay' as much as she wanted, but it wasn't going to be.

She looked at the group. "Sure, take mine." she said, handing her ID to Laura.

Laura took Marci's ID nodded to Eloise. "Can you also hold Marci's ID?" she asked. "I can't really carry any, and I've only got room in my pockets for Adda's and my own."

She extended her hand, "Sure, of course. ID Cards are much loighter than fishtanks anyway," She gave a slight grin to Herbert.
"Any others?"

Asher watched as people joined the cause, keeping note.
"So what, is it just D.River left? Or did I miss anyone else?"

"Hrk, I don't wanna give you all my ID, but if I don't have a choice, I guess I gotta, huh?" he handed Eloise his ID and sighed. "Like I said, try not to break anything, please?"

Herbert gave a slight glare to Eloise.
"Ah say we split up. Hows about...we go in groups of two?" He suggested.

Eloise snatched the ID from David and smirked, "Oh, we'll try." and then laughed. It felt out of place in the library.
She pocketed both IDs and nodded, "Splitting up sounds like the right idea. again, we can't leave anyone alone in a room, so...groups of two!"

Asher stepped next to Laura.
"So, how should we split the rooms then? Any particular way to go about this?" he asked.

"You and I can take the rooms on the left," Laura suggested, looking at Asher. "Herb and El can take the right. That sound good?"

Herbert was about to say the exact same thing, but Laura beat him to it.
"Sos I gotta search my own room?" he said, chuckling. "Or are ya talking about left n' right as yah come outta tha stairs?"

Laura shook her head. "I meant from out of the stairs. Otherwise you'd be searching your room, and I'd be searching mine. And to be honest, I don't think everyone else would really be ok with that."

Asher nodded.
"Sounds good to me. So, you need a lift? Or..." he wasn't sure if it was the best time to idly stroll up the stairs on crutches, but it felt strange to say something like that out of the moment.

Laura giggled at Asher. "Not exactly the place to be acting all romantic, there's a dead body around the corner of that shelf." Then she started walking out of the library, taking as she went. "I'll probably take you up on that when we get to the stairs, though."
