Day 4: Abnormal Days

Asher followed behind her, scratching the back of his head- he hadn't meant for it to come across that way. He shrugged it off- humans make mistakes. He quickly caught up to her.

"Cmon, Eloise." Herbert grumbled, beginning to walk forward. He intended on overtaking Laura. He wanted to get this done quickly. Who knew how much time they had.

She watched them all walk off towards their dorms and sighed. She turned to Adda and David. "So there's three of us. What are we going to do? Should we continue to explore the crime scene, or should we head for the kitchen?"

Adda cast a glance towards Oscar.
"I'm not really that hungry, and Monobear's going to take him away soon... I want to stay with him, at least a little while longer."
With that, she sat down next to Oscar, taking his cold hand in hers.

Eloise looked behind her for a moment.
"Wait, is that splitting it evenly? Asher's room is on that side." She tried to take out her student ID only to pull out two others. She struggled for a moment before giving up and following Herbert. Whatever they found, she could explain it. She was good at that.

Asher wound up a bit ahead of Laura, and stopped at the bottom of the stairs. He hoped that there would be some more deciding evidence to be found above.

He was mildly pleased when he heard Eloise following him. "So whose ya got?" he asked, quickly going up the stairs. "Ah only got my own, and ah think yah got a few?"

"I never got a real conversation in with the kid, to be honest. But he seemed nice enough. I don't know who would have the heart to do that." He was talking sincerely and sighed, lowering his head. "I can't imagine it's any of us. And that scares me."

Adda nodded slightly.
"Everyone seems trustworthy, and...and after what happened to Alex, it's hard to imagine someone wanting to risk that- for themselves, and for everyone else..." she squeezed Oscar's hand tighter.
"At least this time, I can stay with him... no one's chasing me away. This time, I can fight."
A passion burned in her eye as she said this.

Laura stopped and addressed the other three outside of the library.

"Wait a sec, we've got the ID's messed up." She fumbled around her pockets and pulled out her own Electronic Student ID. "You guys are gonna need mine. And me and Asher are gonna need yours and David's." She held out her ID to Herbert, waiting for him to do the same.

"I have a few ideas. I don't like any of them." she leaned against the wall and sighed. "I really don't want anyone else to die, I swear. I wish that could be a reality...but it can't, so we might as well try and figure out who did this, and why."

Adda nodded again.
"We will honor Oscar's wish... once his killer dies, I will do everything in my power-though it isn't much-to grant that wish."

Herbert stepped down the stairs. he wasn't happy to relinquish his ID, but he pulled it out, switching it with Laura. All he needed to do was have Eloise switch off now.

"Whose I got..." Eloise had just put the mess of Student ID's away, she didn't want to pull them out again.

"Well I got mine, David and Marci's." She handed David's to Laura easily, and shoved her own ID into her hands, "Let's not make the same mistake we did last time."

She was referring to doing a decent investigation this time, something they seemed to be doing relatively well so far.

Asher crossed his arms.
"So that's that then, hm? We ready to roll out?"

Marci nodded and sat next to David and looked at Oscar silently. She didn't have anything to say. She closed here eyes and sighed. "I'm sorry." she said just loud enough for the other two to hear.

Laura looked up the stairs. "Yup, I think we're ready. Hey uh, can I cash in for that previous offer now?" she asked Asher. "I've walked up these stairs way too often recently."

Asher nodded and chuckled, scooping her up like he did two days before. He gave her a second to move her crutches up, and then quickly scaled the stairs, careful to not knock her leg into anything. When they reached the top, he took a few steps before putting her down.
"So, where to begin?"

"Aye, at least that." Herbert sighed. "We'll search every damn inch!"

He paused, seemingly contemplating something. "Ya think tha murderer used a cloth or summat to shield themself? Ah mean, if ya stab someone ya gotta get some blood on ya. I've got blood on my clothes a few times, and et was from dead animals. If ya murdered someone, yah'd get spattered... ya think we might be lookin' for dirty clothes?"

Adda adjusted her sitting position, then stared at Oscar's pale face. If not for the blood seeping through his shirt, he would have looked to be asleep.
"Marci, David. I don't want to just sit here." She looked up to the two.
"There's got to be more we can do-more places to look- something."

Laura nodded. "It's a possibility. I don't know why someone would be ashamed of a perfectly bloody set of clothes though." She smiled, and searched everyone's faces for their reactions. "Kidding, by the way! Red isn't really my color."
She turned and addressed Asher again. "If that's our only direction, we might as well get going. Which room are we looking at first?"

Asher crossed his arms for a moment.
"I'd say to pick a side, work down it, and come back around. It's probably got the least walking. Or maybe not. Perimeter math was never my thing." He laughed.
"Well, math was never my thing-but that's besides the point!"

"We gotta stay around this area, though," David mumbled. "Make sure that no one tampers with the body 'n stuff, you know?"

He slumped down and wished he had his hat to hide his face. He wished he brought it one one hand, but on the other his headache had only gotten worse since he woke up.

Eloise watched the spectacle of Laura making it up the stairs, raising an eyebrow.

"Dirty clothes, Oscar's ID," She scratched her head, "Weapons...those are things we should look for. God, Laura, no, you're a winter." She turned to Herbert, "Oscar's room first? Doubt we'll find much, but it's definitely a good place to start."

Herbert nodded. "But ah found tha weapon. Et was a screwdriver. The marks matched perfectly an' it was all bloody n' hidden next to tha damn body." He looked almost apologetic.
"Don't as how ah confirmed et...."

"Tho maybe we should check if tha door's unlocked. Do we even have 'is ID?"
